Recommended test
Keep two shape runs at different profile sizes, snap one into position and generate both in one batch.
- Create a CC shape run with a 48 by 98 mm rectangle and nonzero extrusion, then choose Lock current.
- Change the live profile to 48 by 148 mm and create a second run; confirm the first retains its 98 mm profile dimension.
- Use CC move and Snap move to align a point on the second preview with a known target, then choose Done.
- Generate once, clear the current runs and verify both profile sizes and the moved position in the model.
Give different runs different settings
Current CC shape runs marked Live use the shared placement controls. Changing profile dimensions, extrusion, orientation or spacing options updates those live previews together. This is useful for a uniform assembly, but separate member types need their own settings.
- Configure the first run or group of runs until their shape previews are correct.
- Choose Lock current to freeze the settings of all currently unlocked CC runs, or use Lock beside one run.
- Change the live settings and draw the next run. The locked runs keep their earlier profile and placement settings.
- Repeat for other member types, then Generate the shape batch once.
Already locked runs retain their snapshots when Lock current is used again. Unlock returns a run to the current shared settings immediately; it does not restore the controls to that run’s old values. Keep Object placement in Shape for a batch of differently configured shape runs.
Lock freezes placement settings, not the run’s position. A locked current shape run can still be repositioned with CC move.
Free move across the run
Expand CC move and choose Free move. Drag a current run from its solid preview, a tick or the red guide line. Point picking is temporarily disabled so dragging does not start another measurement.
Free move uses a camera-facing drag plane and removes movement along the run’s own direction. It slides the run sideways relative to its direction, keeping its length and spacing. Change the view if the desired displacement is difficult to control. Use Snap move when a precise target or movement along the run is needed.
Choose Done to resume normal point picking.
Snap a preview point to a target
- Choose Snap move in CC move.
- Click the point on a solid preview that should act as the source. The source can be anywhere on the preview; it need not be the original measurement endpoint.
- Click the intended target snap point in the model or on a valid grid reference.
- Check the translated run, then choose Done.
The entire run translates to bring the source to the target. This changes position without rotating the run or resizing its members. Escape clears a pending snap selection; Done exits CC move so new measurement points can be picked.
Choose the right kind of move

Moving a CC preview does not move objects generated from an earlier version of that run. Generation creates new geometry at the current placement; it does not update the earlier batch.
Keep the generation batch intentional

Generate includes all current runs and leaves those runs in place afterward. Clear the finished runs or save them into a named measurement set before generating another batch. A second Generate with the same current runs adds another set of objects, potentially in exactly the same positions.
Named sets organize the session; they are not restored as a library from .strek. Save the generated model normally and see measurement set persistence for page dimensions.
Saved-truss limitation
The moved and locked workflow above is supported by shape generation. In the current saved-truss placement path, Place Trusses uses the live truss/settings and original run coordinates rather than each run’s locked snapshot and CC move offset. Its output can differ from a preview that uses those features.
Use a separate batch for each saved-truss definition and setting combination. Draw runs at their final references, or use a shared Transform > Move numeric offset. Verify the committed truss positions before proceeding; do not combine locked Shape and Saved Truss runs in one generation batch.
