Edit, link and move construction runs

Manual construction now uses independent construction runs. Earlier Lock/Unlock controls are replaced by a compact list with Editable checkboxes.

Select and edit a run

Click a row under Construction runs to load its settings into the tools. Each run keeps its own profile, extrusion, rotation, mirror, trim and spacing. Changing one run leaves other runs unchanged unless you explicitly link them.

Uncheck Editable to protect a run. Its settings stay stored, and checking it again keeps those values. Protected runs cannot be moved or edited but are still included in Generate. If a run was linked, protecting it removes its links.

Choose Draw run to prepare another run using a copy of the current settings. Changes to that draft leave existing runs untouched. New runs start independent.

Drawing is active only while Draw run is selected (the + button also starts it). Opening another tool, selecting an existing run or pressing Escape stops drawing and cancels an unfinished run. Done and closing options leave the workspace idle. Previews stay visible while you edit settings. Click Draw run again to stop it; Generate and opening Runs also stop drawing. Ordinary Tape Measure is unchanged.

In Smart or Model only snap mode, you can pick corners, edge midpoints and edges on existing green previews to start or end another run. You do not need to generate them first.

Name and link runs

Double-click a run name or use its pencil icon. Enter or clicking elsewhere saves; Escape cancels. Clear the name to return to Run N. The Norwegian list is Konstruksjonslinjer, with the Redigerbar checkbox.

The chain button opens link options. Check the runs that should share settings and choose Apply links. This first copies the source run’s settings and spacing to those runs. Later changes from any linked run update its peers. Names, measured lengths, positions and numeric move offsets remain independent.

Unlink this run retains its current values. Moving a run into a new link group removes its previous membership. Protected runs must be made editable before linking; re-enabling alone never applies another run’s settings.

Move a run

Open Move in the left rail. Free move and Snap move act on the editable run you pick in the viewport. The expandable Offsets for selected run controls apply numeric X/Y/Z offsets only to the selected run, including when it is linked.

For Free move, pick a highlighted corner, edge midpoint or edge on the preview and drag toward a model feature or another green preview. Release at the target marker to align that point. Away from model features, dragging uses the existing across-run plane. Escape restores the starting position.

For Snap move, click the preview point to align, then a target in the model, another green preview or a valid grid reference. The whole run translates without resizing or rotating its members. Escape clears a pending source; Done exits the tool.

Green marks a corner; blue marks an edge or midpoint. Model snapping in CC move works even if ordinary measuring is set to Grid only. The generated-object Move Tool remains separate from these preview controls.

Other previews are available as destinations even when their Editable box is unchecked. The run being moved cannot snap to its own members. Preview-target snapping is part of the local 4 October follow-up above.

Generate named groups

Generate includes all current runs, protected or editable, with each run’s own settings. Shapes and different saved-truss definitions can share a batch. Trusses retain their run’s rotation, mirroring and numeric/drag offsets.

Each run generates its own child group under Custom, using its name or the default shown in the list: Run 1, Run 2, etc. (Norwegian: Linje 1, Linje 2). This applies to both shapes and saved trusses, and Generate proceeds without a naming prompt. Repeated names or later generations receive suffixes such as Run 1 (2) to keep their groups separate.

Generation leaves the runs in the list. Generating again adds another batch; it does not replace previous output. Renaming, editing or deleting a run also leaves already generated objects unchanged. Delete removes the guide and preview.

Saved measurement sets remain session references outside the current generation batch. They are not restored as a library from .strek. Planner page measurements retain independent run settings, names and links in V32 projects; earlier files migrate without changing saved model geometry. See measurement set persistence.
