Build a BOM and consolidated buy list

Convert model-derived quantities into orderable units, merge compatible lines and keep manual decisions visible.

BOM and buy list

The BOM summarizes material requirements and estimated costs from model metadata and selected products. The buy list consolidates orderable needs. Keep their roles distinct: a cut member and a purchased stock length are not necessarily one-to-one.

Merge only compatible units

Merge lines when product identity and unit truly match. Do not combine metres, pieces, square metres or packages simply because labels look similar. Unmerge or Reset restores the previous separation when a consolidation hides important scope.

Manual adjustments

Supplements, waste or project-specific additions can be represented as manual adjustments. Give each adjustment a reason and unit so reviewers can distinguish it from model-derived quantity.

Review coverage

A useful buy list explains which BOM lines have supplier products and which are missing. Check the complete cost, not just the cheapest covered lines. Export or quote only after unit, VAT, currency, package coverage and manual additions have been reviewed.
