Recommended test
Create a tiny test supplier with two differently priced units and use a copy to test sharing safely.
- Create a supplier with a clear test name and add one piece-priced and one length-priced product.
- Enter product URL, VAT, currency and a note, then match one item to the BOM.
- Copy the supplier and change one price in the copy; confirm the original is unchanged.
- Review the share/request controls without sending a real invitation unless that is intended.
Supplier records
A supplier can hold product names, URLs, price per unit, VAT, currency and notes. Match each product’s unit to the BOM need. A low numerical price is meaningless if one record is per metre and another per package.
Ownership and copies
Owned suppliers can be edited and shared through the supported account workflow. A copied supplier becomes a separate working catalog, useful when you want to test prices without altering the source. Shared requests can be accepted or rejected.
Plan limits
Supplier count and collaboration availability can depend on the active plan. The current interface and limits endpoint are authoritative; do not hard-code a purchasing process around a marketing limit that may change.
Keep prices auditable
Record currency, whether VAT is included, package size, date and the source URL. Supplier content can be user-owned, shared or globally published with different trust levels. Review every matched product before using a comparison in a quote.
