Recommended test
Compare two deliberately different test suppliers and make missing coverage visible before choosing a result.
- Match at least three BOM items to Supplier A and leave one item clearly uncovered.
- Match the same scope to Supplier B with a different price or package size.
- Compare Current and Best results, then inspect coverage and missing-item warnings.
- Add a small labeled supplement and confirm the complete-cost ranking updates as expected.
Compare equivalent scope
The comparison can show current and best supplier choices, but a result is meaningful only when products cover the same BOM scope. Check units, package conversion, VAT and currency before comparing totals.
Read coverage first
Coverage identifies which project items have a usable product match. Missing items can make an apparently cheap supplier incomplete. Resolve or explicitly exclude them before treating the total as a project price.
Include supplements
Complete cost can include manual supplements and adjustments. Use them for documented waste, delivery or known extras—not as an unlabeled way to force a target price. Keep model quantity and commercial allowance separate.
Verify the winning option
Open the underlying product links and confirm the prices are current, available and appropriate. A “best” result reflects stored data and matching rules; it does not reserve stock, calculate delivery constraints or guarantee final checkout price.
