Recommended test
Trace one visible wall member from the model into the cutlist and independently verify its size and count.
- Generate a small building and open the Cutlist tab.
- Find a wall member by name and read its dimensions, length, quantity and unit.
- Use Used by or group information to locate the corresponding assembly in the model.
- Measure one member and count a short visible run before accepting the listed quantity.
How the list is organized
Cutlist data is derived from the current model hierarchy and metadata. Entries are grouped into floor, walls, roof and other assemblies and can show name, description, dimensions, length, quantity and unit. Panel-like items can also expose sheet or container counts.
Trace the source
Use Used by information to understand which assemblies contribute an item. A repeated dimension may appear in several walls or roof sides. Hidden viewport state is not the same as intentionally excluding an assembly from the model.
Validate representative items
Check at least one member in every major group against geometry. Confirm units and distinguish piece count, linear quantity, area and container quantity. Openings, dormers and manual custom solids deserve extra review because they can change local framing.
What the cutlist is not
The list does not prove structural sizing, stock optimization, kerf, waste, treatment, grade or site tolerance. Treat it as model-derived information that must be reviewed before ordering or fabrication. Save the project version that produced an issued list.
