Recommended test
Export a body of known size and confirm its dimensions in a slicer.
- Create and apply a small Custom Solid box with known dimensions.
- Open Save or export project, then Export Custom Solids (.3mf).
- Select that body, use Standard quality and Place on print bed, then download.
- Open the file in a 3MF-capable slicer and compare its size and orientation before selecting print settings.
Choose current Custom Solid bodies
Open Save or export project → Export Custom Solids (.3mf). Select the bodies to include. Supported visible bodies start selected; hidden bodies can be selected explicitly.
The export uses the exact geometry of current OCCT Custom Solid bodies. Sketches, reference images, planes and generated building framing are excluded. An older or unsupported body is labelled Requires current Custom Solid geometry.
Choose mesh quality
| Quality | Surface approximation |
|---|---|
| Standard | 0.05 mm |
| Fine | 0.01 mm |
Fine uses a tighter approximation for curved surfaces and can produce more triangles, larger files and longer preparation. These values describe the exported mesh approximation, not a guarantee of printer accuracy or a layer-height setting.
Use Standard for the first check, then compare Fine if a curved part needs a smoother exported surface.
Check position and size
Files use actual-size millimetres with the model upright. Place on print bed moves the selected bodies together onto the bed while preserving their relative positions. It does not individually arrange or pack every part.
Disable it when you want to keep the original placement. Check orientation and the bounds of every selected body in the slicer.
Download and inspect
Choose Download .3mf. The exporter prepares and checks the print mesh before downloading. If it reports a geometry or mesh problem, correct the part and export again. Cancelling stops the pending export without changing the model.
In your slicer, inspect holes, thin walls, separate parts and scale. Choose printer, material, supports, infill and print settings there. The exported 3MF contains geometry; it is not a prepared printer job.
Keep the editable project
Save .strek alongside the print file to retain sketches, planes and exact editable bodies. GLB export is intended for sharing or viewing the model; use this 3MF workflow for supported Custom Solid print meshes.
