Tune truss geometry and use the saved library

Position A-frame posts or W-frame joints, check loft clearance and reuse a named truss safely.

A-frame controls

Vertical posts are added as mirrored pairs. Their position can be described from the heel or by height, depending on the active control. Use the preview to check both the structural shape and the clear usable zone. An optional collar tie changes the overhead boundary.

W-frame controls

W-Frame lets you set the upper web joint along the top chord from the heel; the lower arrangement is solved into the symmetrical truss. W layouts are compact and familiar, but the tool still produces geometric members rather than engineered truss calculations.

Loft readouts

Use the reported open width at a chosen height, clear width between webs and clear height below a tie to compare options. These measurements describe the model only. Finishes, services, deflection and required safety clearance are not automatically included.

Library discipline

Saved definitions can be loaded, deleted, updated or saved as new. Update changes the reusable definition; Save as new preserves a separate variant. Include span, angle and template in the name so the intended geometry is easy to identify before placement.

The saved truss library is browser-local. A truss already inserted in a .strek model and the reusable library entry are separate things. Record the defining settings when a library entry needs to be recreated on another browser or computer, and measure any already placed trusses after changing a definition rather than assuming they updated with it.

Build Generator can inherit saved-truss geometry for gable roofs and can auto-adjust supported A-frame internals when configured. Check the generator’s span and the resulting loft readouts after loading a saved definition.
