Recommended test
Open a hinged door and a sliding patio panel from their handles, then save their positions.
- Finish other tools, hover a visible door handle and left-click when its circle appears. Confirm it swings toward the exposed hinges.
- Hold the left button and drag to an intermediate angle; test middle-mouse orbit without committing another tool action.
- Use the inside handle of a sliding patio door and inspect its stop beside the fixed panel.
- Save and reopen the project and confirm both door positions are retained.
Hover near a visible door handle in the normal 3D workspace. A subtle circle appears. Left-click to open or close; hold the left button and drag to choose an intermediate position. Escape cancels the movement.
Finish Move, Rotate, measurement, construction or editing tools first. Hidden handles and handles behind other objects do not activate. Middle-mouse orbit and Shift+middle pan remain available; navigation pauses a held drag.
Hinged doors
The leaf swings toward its exposed hinges, so exterior hinges produce an outward swing. Clicking opens it to 90 degrees; dragging allows angles up to 108 degrees. Glass, mouldings, locks and handles follow their leaf. Frames, thresholds and sidelights stay fixed. Each leaf with a handle operates independently; a double balcony door with one handle opens its active leaf.
Sliding patio doors
The handled panel slides away from the handle side: a handle on the right means leftward travel. Either the inside or outside handle works. Click to open/close fully or hold and drag, then release to stop partway. The other panel stays fixed.
Travel stops with 30 mm clearance between the inside handle and the fixed panel, while retaining at least 10 mm from the opposite outer frame. Dragging beyond a stop is limited automatically.
Save and reopen
Save the .strek project to retain the current angle or slide position.
Regenerating the building creates closed doors again. Older intact two-panel
patio assemblies are recognized and gain missing inside hardware automatically;
saved positions beyond the handle stop are brought back within it. Older hinged
doors need regeneration to gain handle interaction.
Garage doors and floor-planner sliding partition doors are excluded. Door motion is a visual operation; it does not check collisions with furniture or walls or change floor-plan swing symbols.
