Create a lightweight grid pattern

Fill a selected rectangle with an isogrid-style pocket pattern and estimate the remaining mass.

Current pattern scope

Pattern currently creates an isogrid-style layout on a selected rectangular region in Grid mode. It is an experimental advanced tool: test on simple geometry and save before committing.

Define the cells

Pocket size sets the broad grid module. Rib and rim values preserve material between pockets and around the perimeter. Depth controls how far the pattern removes or marks geometry. Use Auto fit to let the tool resolve a viable grid, or Fixed when an exact pocket target is more important.

Read the estimate

The preview reports grid count, removed and remaining material information, including an estimated mass based on density. The default-style density value is only an input; replace it with a verified material density if the mass matters.

Avoid over-detailed tests

A small pocket size can create a large amount of geometry. Begin coarse, inspect one saved round-trip and verify the remaining walls. This pattern is not structural optimization: stress, manufacturing radius, tool access and minimum wall thickness require separate analysis.
