Recommended test
Make a closed mixed profile from two lines and an arc, then edit one defining value.
- In Grid mode, draw two connected straight segments with visible endpoint snaps.
- Add an arc that returns to the first endpoint and confirm a closed region appears.
- Edit one line's length and angle, then adjust the arc radius.
- Push/Pull the region and inspect the curved boundary for gaps or unexpected reversals.
Lines
Lines are the best foundation for dimension-driven profiles. After drawing, edit a line’s length and angle when exact geometry matters. Connected endpoints should share the same snap rather than merely overlap on screen.
Arcs
Arcs describe a constant-radius curve. Radius is editable; sweep is reported from the constructed geometry. Watch which side of the chord the arc occupies, especially after editing adjacent lines.
Splines
Splines create free curves through multiple points. Finish the spline deliberately before starting another tool. Its points and resulting length are available for inspection, but a spline is less predictable for fabrication than an arc with a known radius.
Closed mixed profiles
Lines, arcs and splines can form one boundary. Keep the segment count small, zoom into every junction and look for a recognized region before Push/Pull. If extrusion fails, remove the last curve and rebuild the closure instead of stacking more endpoints over the problem.
