Recommended test
Add the rainwater path to a simple gable roof and inspect every transition from roof edge to ground.
- Enable fascia and outer bargeboards on a small sheathed gable roof.
- Add gutters and gutter hooks, then inspect spacing along both eaves.
- Enable a downpipe, adjust its horizontal position, and check the wall clearance.
- Inspect corners and ends from Iso, Front and Top before using the view in a plan.
Build the edge in order
Start with the roof and sheathing, then add fascia and bargeboards before gutters, hooks and downpipes. Flashing belongs where the selected roof assembly exposes it. This order makes missing supports or overlaps easier to see.
Bargeboards
Outer bargeboards can be controlled for the main roof and dormers. Their live height and eave-end length multipliers depend on a compatible generated roof-detail stack, including the relevant battens and boards.
Hip roofs have fascia around all four eaves and no gable bargeboards. The Hip Live Control panel therefore omits the Outer Bargeboard controls.
Gutters and downpipes
Inspect gutter continuity and hook placement along the eaves. Downpipes can be positioned manually. The automatic placement maintains a small wall gap—currently 10 mm—unless a manual offset changes it. Treat that as model spacing, not a substitute for brackets or local drainage design.
Hip roof eaves and drainage
In Hip roof V1, Eaves flashing sits above the enabled batten stack and beneath the covering. Its folded edge clears the fascia and its angled lip extends into the gutter. All four corners use matching mitres. Hide the covering and caps to inspect these junctions.
Gutters on all four sides also creates hooks and two downpipes at opposite corners. The vertical pipes are centred on the corner-post boards with 10 mm face clearance in their generated position. They follow the available wall finish when wall layers change, or when corner boards are omitted. Connected rounded bends close the pipe transitions, and nearby hooks automatically clear the outlets.
The Hip Downpipe live slider changes the inclined section between the bends while keeping the gutter connection and hooks fixed. Reset restores the automatic wall clearance. Hip roof V1 was released on 13 September 2026; older Hip models need regeneration to receive these details.
Quantity and constructability
Accessories add useful visual and estimating information, but corner joints, outlets, slopes, fasteners and water discharge remain construction decisions. Review the model at ends and junctions, then confirm product lengths, units and supplements in the supplier comparison rather than pricing only the visible linework.
