Apply and paint model textures

Assign built-in material images to the whole model or selected surfaces and control their visual scale.

Built-in materials

The current texture palette includes light and dark spruce, light and dark chipboard, concrete, stone and insulation. These are appearance assets; assigning one does not automatically change the cutlist material or physical properties.

With Textures enabled in Build Generator, OSB roof sheathing uses the OSB image, wall sheathing uses Asfaltplate, and chipboard floors keep Chipboard Light. These defaults and their save/reopen restore were released on 14 September 2026. See generated sheathing textures for the complete workflow.

Apply broadly or paint

Apply a selected texture to the whole model for a quick presentation baseline, or use the texture paint brush for individual targets. Start on a large visible face and confirm the selected object before painting repeated small members.

Set visual scale

Texture scale is adjustable across a broad 25–500% range. Use recognizable real features—board width, aggregate or sheet pattern—to avoid obviously oversized mapping. Scale is visual and should not be used as a measurement.

Persist and clear

Texture assignments are part of current project persistence. Save and reopen an important textured project before final delivery. Clear removes the assignment from the selected scope; it does not delete the object or its material-list identity.
