Recommended test
Prepare one technical elevation and one shaded 3D view from the same model.
- Switch to Front orthographic and choose Line display with visible object edges.
- Try black and white edge colors and choose the clearer option for the background.
- Return to Iso color display and adjust brightness, contrast, highlight, shadow fill and ambient modestly.
- Toggle Follow camera lighting and confirm the model remains readable from the opposite side.
Color and line display
Color shows surface materials and lighting. Line display produces a drawing-like view and is most useful in orthographic projection; hidden-line behavior is designed around that mode. Do not judge material appearance from Line display.
Object edges
Edges can be shown or hidden globally. Choose black or white edge color and tune edge opacity against the current surface color. Too many edges make detailed framing noisy; too few can hide member boundaries.
Lighting controls
Brightness and contrast adjust the final appearance. Highlight, shadow fill and ambient controls change how form reads. Follow camera keeps the principal lighting relationship useful as the camera moves; fixed lighting is better when several page views must remain visually consistent.
Keep a repeatable look
Make small changes and compare with defaults. Capture a Planner page only after projection, direction, display, edges, visibility and lighting are final. Appearance settings help communication but do not change model geometry or material quantities.
