Recommended test
Create three pages from one model and prove that each preserves a distinct view and display state.
- Set an isometric color view and add a page named Overview.
- Switch to Front orthographic line display and add a page named Front elevation.
- Hide the roof, choose a timeline step if available, and add a page named Wall framing.
- Move between all three pages and confirm camera, projection, display and hidden state restore as intended.
What a page records
A Planner page can retain camera direction, 2D or 3D projection, Color or Line display, object edges, hidden objects, current temporary Tape Measure/CC measurements, supported object positions and Build Timeline position. Notes and callouts belong to their page as well.
All pages refer to the same model geometry. A page with a different camera or exploded arrangement is not a separate saved building revision. See page state and Default view before making presentation-specific moves.
Generate an assembly guide
Choose Default view, then Create assembly guide. Supported generated buildings can produce editable specifications, measured floor and wall drawings, parts tables and optional elevations. Select Compact or Detailed and add large drawing substeps where useful. The preview identifies unsupported parts before creating pages. Add pages deliberately
Prepare the viewport first, then add a clearly named page. Standard directions include isometric, opposite isometric, top, bottom, front, back, left and right. Use orthographic views for elevations and dimensions; use perspective for explanatory images.
Organize the set
Use substeps such as 9.1 and 9.2 to keep a larger drawing beneath its parent explanation. Each substep is a separate PDF page. Generated roof details use highlights and surrounding model parts for context; these reference parts are not counted again in the detail table.
Pages can be duplicated, deleted and reordered. Duplicate when a second sheet shares most state, then select the copy before adjusting its view. Planner preserves supported active-page changes when switching pages. Use the page summary to check hidden objects, captured measurements and moved objects, then switch away and back to confirm.
Keep overview, plans, elevations, stages and details in a predictable order. A framing view made by hiding a wall or roof is not automatically a geometric section cut.
Section view provides temporary cutaway inspection in the workspace. It pauses while Planner is open and resumes afterward. Saved section drawings and dedicated section PDF output are not included in its first version.
Refresh after changes
A page can preserve its viewpoint while the shared model changes. Before export, visit every page and check callout targets, measurements and moved-object arrangements, especially after regeneration. Recreate references that no longer identify the intended geometry.
Save the drawing set
Planner pages are included in .strek project state. Return to Default view, inspect the assembled model and save a project file after arranging the pages. Reopen it in a separate workspace session and check the page order, notes and measurements. Exported PDFs are separate deliverables and do not replace that editable project file.
