Recommended test
Make an assembled page and an exploded page, then verify the normal model returns through Default view.
- Save a small model, enter Planner and add an isometric page named Assembled.
- Duplicate it as Exploded, move one existing member a short distance and add an explanatory page note.
- Switch between both pages and Default view, checking the moved member's position each time.
- Return to Default view, save a new .strek and reopen it in another session to verify the two pages and their notes.
A page describes a view of the shared model
Planner stores a page’s camera, display choices, hidden-object state, timeline position, captured measurements and supported object-position changes. Pages refer to the same model. They do not contain independent copies of the building geometry.
Changing a solid’s dimensions or replacing the generated structure can therefore affect several pages. Keeping an older page title does not preserve an older model revision. Use separate .strek files for design alternatives that need different geometry.
Changes belong to the active page
Select the intended page before changing its view. Planner keeps the active page’s supported view state and records it when switching to another page. Duplicate a page before making a presentation variation that should coexist with the original.
Use the page summary to inspect its timeline stage, hidden objects, measurements and moved-object count. Switching away and back is a useful check that the intended state was captured. Saving the project to disk is a separate step.
Make a simple exploded view
- Start from a saved, assembled model and add a page named Assembled.
- Duplicate the page and name the copy Exploded before moving anything.
- Use Move Tool to separate one existing member enough to reveal its relationship to the assembly.
- Add a note explaining the separation, then switch between the two pages to check their positions.
The page-position workflow tracks supported objects’ positions. It is not a general record of all geometry edits, rotations, scales, copying or deletion. Build an exploded arrangement by moving existing members and verify it on a small example before preparing a full assembly sheet.
Return to Default view
Default view restores the working baseline captured for the Planner session, including supported positions, visibility, camera, timeline and current measurements. Use it to leave an exploded or partially hidden page and inspect the assembled model.
That baseline is not the last file saved on disk, and Default view does not undo regeneration or reconstruct deleted geometry. Before saving a master project or exporting the assembled model, return to Default view, restore the full timeline/visibility you intend and inspect the result.
Keep page measurements portable
Planner captures the current temporary Tape Measure and CC measurements. Named saved sets are a separate session collection and are not included in that page capture. Create important page dimensions as current measurements and inspect the page’s measurement summary.
Save .strek, reopen it in a separate session and revisit each page. Check page notes, moved objects, hidden members and dimension endpoints before exporting the PDF. Regeneration can replace object identities, so recheck position overrides and callout targets after rebuilding.
Stable part selections
Saved page selections follow part identities when the build timeline is reordered. Adding or removing timeline parts flags affected pages for review; PDF export identifies unresolved pages. Check each drawing, then choose a new timeline stage or acknowledge the reviewed remaining selection. This check does not detect every geometry edit.
Grid and axes are hidden on booklet pages and restored in Default view. Partial assembly illustrations omit the extra ground line, while complete elevations retain it. Saving .strek preserves the full model even when the active page hides parts.
