Recommended test
Generate a textured building and check each sheathing category before and after reopening.
- Enable Textures in Build Generator and select OSB roof sheathing and a chipboard floor.
- Generate, use a textured display style, and hide roofing and wall siding to expose the sheathing.
- Check OSB on roof panels, Asfaltplate on wall panels, Chipboard Light on the floor and Spruce Light on framing.
- Add a door or window with Opening Framer and confirm its new timber uses Spruce Light while the sheathing retains its own textures.
- Save the .strek file and reopen it in a fresh session to confirm the generated assignments return.
- Generate a separate example with Textures disabled and confirm these defaults are not applied.
Released on 14 September 2026.
Enable generated textures
Turn on Textures in Build Generator and select OSB under Roof Sheathing. Generate the building and choose a textured display style. Hide roof covering or wall siding to see the panels beneath them.
| Generated part | Default texture |
|---|---|
| OSB roof sheathing | OSB image |
| Wall sheathing | Asfaltplate image |
| Chipboard subfloor | Chipboard Light |
| Timber framing | Spruce Light |
OSB selection applies to gable, skillion and hip roof sheathing. Generated dormer wall and roof sheathing use the same corresponding assignments. Other roof sheathing materials keep their existing defaults.
Appearance and project saving
Textures change appearance, not material labels, dimensions or quantities. The OSB and Asfaltplate images are optimized JPEGs for faster loading. With Textures disabled, these generated defaults are not applied.
Save and reopen a textured Build Generator project to retain its generated assignments. The applied model base texture is restored before the sheathing-specific textures, so an OSB or wall-sheet selection does not spread over all the framing.
To apply the new defaults to an older design, save a baseline and regenerate it. For painting individual parts and adjusting scale, see Apply and paint model textures.
New opening framing
New timber created by Opening Framer uses the building’s base texture, Spruce Light by default. Automatic OSB and Asfaltplate assignments leave the selected paint texture alone. Choosing a brush for painting individual parts does not change the texture of newly created opening framing. With generated textures off, new framing stays untextured.
