Recommended test
Generate one joisted floor and one foundation-wall floor, then compare both the model and material list.
- Generate a small building with floor joists and a chipboard or OSB subfloor.
- Inspect joist dimensions, spacing and the subfloor sheet layout in the model and cutlist.
- Change the test to Foundation Wall and regenerate after saving the first version.
- Confirm the perimeter wall appears and that floor-joist settings no longer drive that floor.
Choose the floor system
A framed floor uses joist width, height and material settings, with optional subfloor panels. Foundation Wall creates a concrete perimeter baseline and is presented as particularly useful for garages. In that mode, floor-joist inputs are ignored and the foundation uses its own editable height and fixed wall-thickness behavior.
Subfloor sheets
Choose chipboard, OSB or custom sheet dimensions. Sheet size affects generated panel layout and list quantities, so enter the product that will actually be priced. Inspect edge conditions rather than assuming every remainder represents an orderable full sheet.
A-frame loft floors
With an A-frame host and Loft Floor Deck enabled, a Flush Wall gable dormer over the main bottom chords can extend the loft floor into its opening. Panels continue beneath the raised front plate, stagger on bottom-chord centerlines and notch around retained framing. Projecting building extensions use a separate floor arrangement. Floor insulation
The floor insulation option prepares the assembly but does not automatically add insulation material as a quantified product. Treat it as a construction-state choice and add real insulation products to estimating workflows separately where required.
Check the output
Expand the floor group, measure the joist depth and inspect the Cutlist/BOM categories. For a foundation wall, compare the perimeter with the wall footprint. Neither option validates bearing, reinforcement, moisture protection or structural capacity; those decisions remain project responsibilities.
