Set the grid, axes, units and object edges

Tune the working reference without changing the underlying millimetre-based model.

Grid spacing

Show or hide the workspace grid from the toolbar. The current grid spacing accepts 10 to 10,000 mm and defaults to 600 mm. The preference is stored locally, so check it when moving between tasks or browsers.

The main grid is a visual and snapping reference; it does not resize existing geometry.

Axes and edges

Axes reveal the model’s X, Y and Z orientation. Object edges outline visible geometry and can make framing easier to read, especially in a color display. Turn edges off when a presentation image needs a quieter appearance, or use Line display in orthographic views for drawing-like output.

Display units

The unit control changes how values are shown and entered in supported fields. Autostrek keeps canonical internal geometry in millimetres. When collaborating, state the intended unit in project notes and verify at least one known span after opening another person’s file.

A useful setup habit

Set units first, then choose grid spacing appropriate to the work: a structural module for framing or a smaller increment for details. Leave axes visible while learning a transform or camera direction, and hide them only for final captures.
