Compare all four simple siding patterns on one wall and choose a readable scale.
- Generate Simple Panel siding and open its Live Controls.
- Cycle through Horizontal, Shiplap, Vertical and Smooth patterns.
- Set a known board width between 40 and 300 mm, then enable contrast lines.
- Adjust contrast opacity, hide and restore siding, and confirm the next rebuild keeps the intended settings.
Change the pattern live
Simple siding supports Horizontal, Shiplap, Vertical and Smooth patterns. Switching live is useful for design comparison because it avoids creating a dense new set of legacy board objects.
This also applies to all four walls of Hip roof V1, including the end walls. Generate Simple Panel siding, then open Live Control and select Wall Control. Pattern, board width, visibility and contrast-line settings apply to simple panels; they do not rebuild individual Boards siding. Hip roof V1 was released on 13 September 2026.
Set board width
Board width controls the visible rhythm and currently supports 40–300 mm. Enter the actual intended face module when known. Pattern spacing is a representation and does not define every joint, fastener or waste allowance.
Add contrast lines
Extra contrast lines can make the pattern legible at a distance. Tune their opacity so they describe joints without overpowering window, corner and structural edges. Review both color and line display.
Hide without deleting
The live visibility control lets you expose sheathing or framing temporarily. Restore siding before presentation unless the partial assembly is intentional. Confirm live settings after rebuilding and keep the same pattern assumption when comparing screenshots or quantities.
